New software tool empowers forces by improving data and reporting accuracy

24th March 2010 – APD Communications announces today the launch of INCA Reports, a powerful, secure, web-based reporting tool. Designed for the emergency services sector, INCA Reports provides a level of granularity never seen before in the sector helping forces to improve productivity levels, make more informed decisions and redeploy officers to the streets.

The reporting tool provides police officers access to on-demand data and scheduled reports. By providing an accurate view of vehicle history, incidents can be reviewed more comprehensively. Using INCA Reports, officers can ensure optimum use of resources, preventing over deployment of vehicles and ensuring that critical areas have sufficient resource available at all times.

Staff can interactively explore data within reports by selecting it and clicking through to map areas, reducing the chance of information being misinterpreted.

All reports can be created quickly via user-friendly dashboards, allowing staff to select individual or groups of vehicles, by a range of factors such as class, type or location. Using APD’s ‘GeoFilter Editor’ software within INCA Reports, staff can configure reporting areas to be any size or shape by simply clicking on an online map. If forces receive multiple incident reports, hotspot areas can be saved enabling reports to be created instantly, which improves productivity levels and lets forces respond to public enquiries more swiftly.

Traditionally, most forces were required to allocate a number of officers to review data and reports were produced infrequently, as the reporting processing could be lengthy. Using INCA Reports, this process can be done by a single person in hours rather than days, allowing staff to be redeployed in the field where they are most needed. Due to the web-based nature of INCA Reports, staff can review and generate reports and set up GeoFilters remotely rather than having to return to the force’s control room.

In-built security protocols prevent unauthorised personnel from accessing reports and access to INCA Reports is logged ensuring complete compliance with the Management of Police Information (MOPI) policy.

Overview

Machine tools can be powered from a variety of sources. Human and animal power are options, as is energy captured through the use of waterwheels. However, modern machine tools began to develop only after the development of the steam engine, which led to the Industrial Revolution. Today, most machine tools are powered by electricity.

Machine tools can be operated manually, or under automatic control. Early machines used flywheels to stabilize their motion and had complex systems of gears and levers to control the machine and the piece being worked on. Soon after World War II, the numerical control (NC) machine was developed. NC machines used a series of numbers punched on paper tape or punch cards to control their motion. In the 1960s, computers were added to give even more flexibility to the process. Such machines became known as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines. NC and CNC machines could precisely repeat sequences over and over, and could produce much more complex pieces than even the most skilled tool operators.

Before long, the machines could automatically change the specific cutting and shaping tools that were being used. For example, a drill machine might contain a magazine with a variety of drill bits for producing holes of various sizes. Previously, either machine operators would usually have to manually change the bit or move the work piece to another station to perform these different operations. The next logical step was to combine several different machine tools together, all under computer control. These are known as machining centers, and have dramatically changed the way parts are made.

From the simplest to the most complex, most machine tools are capable of at least partial self-replication, and produce machine parts as their primary function.

The brain has\ several functions and playing with puzzles help develop these functions. Puzzles help improve reasoning, logical analysis, numerical calculations and much more. Regarding the physical aspect these puzzles help improve hand-eye coordination. These even impart spatial awareness.

 

Puzzles are an integral part of the learning process. Children should be given access to puzzles from an early age. Since subject specific puzzles are available nowadays a child can get lot of valuable information from such puzzles. A lot of children are spatial learners and they learn better when they handle objects which are related to the subject that they are learning. Since puzzles also have images these are also beneficial for children who are visual learners. Problem solving can turn out to be a fun exercise with puzzles. When learning is fun children enjoy and develop interest in it. Later on it helps to develop career skills.
